First Big Decision

I would say the first big decision I had to make was when I was a junior in high school. I had been playing soccer for over ten years and I had just wrapped up my junior school and club season. I felt burnt out with soccer and I was also running track, which was starting to grow on me.
I decided to quit soccer after that year. I don't think I thought much about it, I just kind of reacted to my emotions. I honestly didn't even feel sad to let it go (at the time) because my mind just was so focused on track.
When I made it onto a college track team, however, my thoughts about my decision shifted. I realized I never loved track the way I loved soccer. I made my decision based on short term emotions and didn't factor in the long term.
Luckily it all worked out and I'm back to playing soccer now. But this first big decision definitely taught me to take more time when making future big decisions. It taught me to be less impulsive, and also think about the aftermath of my decision.
